SEND Strategy 2018-2021

The attached Rotherham Special Educational Needs and Disability Strategy ‘The Journey to Excellence 2018-2021’ has been developed in consultation and co-production with a variety of young people, parents and providers. The Strategy sets out the five current priority areas of development;

  • Shaping Provision through Co-production and Communication
  • Joint Commissioning of Services
  • Sufficiency of Provision
  • Quality of Provision
  • Value for Money

The Strategy outlines the range of activity that is underway, and contains information on the strategic plans for the next three years in Rotherham.

Consultation on this Strategy will take place for four weeks from 31st August 2018 to 28th September 2018 this will provide a valuable opportunity for our key partners and stakeholders to provide a view on the strategy and associated developments.

Currently a more detailed and supported consultation is taking place with young people but we would encourage any other young person who wishes to express their views on the Strategy to do so. This can be done through the email address below or by contacting Sally Thomas or Louise Mulligan, young people’s officers from Rotherham’s SEND Information and Advice Support Service on 01709-823627.

We would be very grateful if you can find time to read the attached Strategy and anyone wishing to express any thoughts, suggestions or views can email them to karen.surtees@rotherham or post FAO Karen Surtees, Inclusion Project Officer: SEND Local Offer, Inclusion Service, CYPS RMBC, Kimberworth Place, Kimberworth, Rotherham S61 1HE by 28th September 2018.

A summary of responses will be available on the SEND Local Offer website.
